Jumbo-Size GameCube Memory Card Coming?David Smith
While Nintendo has said nothing on the subject quite yet, the notion of a new high-capacity GameCube memory card is gathering steam. The EBGames retail chain is now soliciting pre-orders for an official GameCube "Memory Card 1019," from Nintendo, slated for release on June 8 at a price of $29.99.
Current models of the GameCube memeory card weigh in at 59 blocks and 251 blocks, respectively. Experience has shown that the 59 version is a little too small, while the 251 version is just about right. The 1019 would presumably be an option for players with multiple sports game saves and other weighty data files.
If and when more news of the new memory card arises, particularly the official word from Nintendo, we'll be sure to pass it on.
