Nintendo DS Game ListChris ScantleberryToday, at the Nintendo E3 press conference, attendees were given a first look at the Nintendo DS. After a brief reception of applause, Nintendo raised the bar of excitement another notch by showing off some of the new games in development.
The video showcase gave a quick glimpse of a few first-party games in development, including Metroid Prime Hunters and Super Mario 64x4 (a twist of the N64 classic adventure game). But beyond the games shown at the event, over 100 developers including companies like Electronic Arts and Capcom have lined up to provide all original and new iterations of existing, popular franchises. Here's a list of some of the current projects in development:
Activision – Spider-Man 2
Atari – Title to be announced
Bandai – One Piece, in addition to several other additional titles in development.
Banpresto – Dragonball Z
Capcom – Several new games based on the existing Viewtiful Joe, Gyakuten Saiban and Mega Man Network series, respectively.
Electronic Arts – Need for Speed
Hudson Soft – Several titles in development.
Koei – Dynasty Warriors
Konami – Frogger 2005, in addition to several additional titles in development.
Majesco – Title to be announced
Namco – A new Mr. Driller title and an unannounced RPG.
Nintendo - Mario Kart DS, Animal Crossing DS, NEW Super Mario Bros., Nintendogs
Sega - Project Rub
Square Enix - New iterations of the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and Dragon Quest Monsters series, respectively.
Tecmo – Monster Rancher and an unannounced title currently in development by Team Ninja.
THQ – A SpongeBob SquarePants title.
Ubisoft – A new Rayman title.
Vivendi – Title to be announced.
A few companies like Atari and Hudson Soft haven't disclosed their lineups as of yet. We look forward to hearing about what's in store for Nintendo's next-generation of handheld gaming.
