Although it's taken a while for the games world to notice, a few secondhand hints recently dropped regarding a third game in the Devil May Cry series. In an interview with martial artist and actress Stephanie Cheeva -- who in the past contributed to motion capture in games like Spawn: Armageddon and Rise to Honor -- Kung Fu Cinema notes that her latest project was motion-capture work for Devil May Cry 3.
Ruling out the likelihood of a simple confusion between series installments, Cheeva played no role (as Lucia, or any other character) in Devil May Cry 2.
Capcom itself has of course said nothing about a third game in the series, although its PlayStation 2 release slate for the coming year is conspicuously missing a major holiday release as yet.
Though last year's Devil May Cry 2 was roundly panned by critics, it was still a commercial success, and the concept obviously has potential left for a talented development team to realize. We'll look forward to hearing more of the series if Capcom has indeed chosen to continue it.
