Konami TYO's football simulation Pro Evolution Soccer 3 for PlayStation 2 has racked up its millionth retail pre-order, Konami of Europe announced today. The PAL version of the smash hit Winning Eleven 7 is due for release in Europe and other PAL territories in 11 days, on October 17.
Over its past two installments, Konami's series has risen to become the premier football game in Europe and Japan -- Winning Eleven 6 was one of only four platinum PS2 titles in Japan last year, and Winning Eleven 7 sold a million units only three weeks after its release earlier this year. The European version should follow suit in short order.
A PC version of the game is also due out in Europe in November, but at present only the PS2 version is scheduled for US release. It's coming next February.
