PSP signs up sub-distributors - Brief Article PSP Electronics has appointed two sub-distributors for its Pomona Electronics
franchise, Onyx Components and WW Cables & Components, in a bid to move further into the UK test market.
Pomona, a subsidiary of Fluke, produces a range of test equipment accessories that include IC test clips, DMM accessories, patch cords, test leads, grabbers and banana plugs. Onyx, based in Basingstoke, specialises in soldering tools, fume extraction equipment, moulded power cords and various electromechanical, passive and optoelectronics components.
Peter Scaysbrook, an Onyx director, said: "Because of the diverse nature of our business, we are already dealing with maintenance, service and production personnel in a variety of industries. These are the very people who regularly need to source test accessories."
Onyx also offers component procurement and kitting services.
WW Cables, based in Royston, was originally set up as a specialist cable harness manufacturer and has recently diversified into the distribution of related components.
Jim Webb, MD of WW Cables, said: "Nearly all of our customers have to carry out some form of electronic testing."
Colin Wright, PSP's sales and marketing director, said: "We see the appointment of sub-distributors as a key means of achieving greater market penetration."
