Computer Gaming World Debuts Hot New Design

SAN FRANCISCO, July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer Gaming World, published by Ziff Davis Media's market-leading Game Group, unveiled its exciting

new design today, starting with its August issue, that includes a special free demo of two of the most significant PC games on the market: Blizzard's "World of Warcraft" and LucasArts's "Star Wars Battlefront II." The new design features a cover with bolder fonts and brighter colors and more high-impact layouts that are packed with the latest game screens and information that gamers will not find anywhere else.

"Computer Gaming World has always excelled at delivering authoritative editorial content, and by introducing its new design elements we are addressing all the changing needs of core gamers," said Simon Cox, Creative Director of Ziff Davis Media Game Group. "The magazine now has an even more dramatic look that generates excitement on every page. From the moment you pick up the magazine we want you to connect with the energy that is the hallmark of gaming on the PC, and this new design accomplishes all of that and more."

The new design highlights the magazine's award-winning editorial content, its sense of humor and its unique and esteemed voice within the PC gaming industry. Readers are provided with a new front-of-the-book format, in which previews and news are side by side for the first time. Each issue will also feature extensive information on pages that are easier to read, with bigger fonts and more pictures -- all designed for a friendlier and more entertaining reader experience. The new cover design will also now highlight the magazine's DVD contents, which is an integral part of the PC gaming experience.

Computer Gaming World is the longest-running gaming magazine in the United States. Its editorial staff has continually responded to reader tastes and demands, striving constantly to make it the most relevant PC gaming publication in the business. The magazine won the Folio Gold OZZIE Award for the best redesign in 2004, and the new 2005 design elements continue to improve on this heritage.
