The long-awaited Xbox Live downloads for the Xbox version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic are now available. Today's downloads add a new Yavin IV space station area, including a brief quest and an item store featuring a selection of powerful character and lightsaber upgrades.

Yavin Station features a new NPC race -- the Trandoshans -- and sells useful items like the Baragwin heavy repeating blaster and flame thrower (handy for kitting out HK-47 with some extra firepower), new lightsaber upgrades, and a few other unusual items like the poison-resistant Advanced Bio-Stabilizer Mask. Completing a selection of brief quests will open up the shop selling all the new swag.
